Information - TEchniques and Sciences Search(Research) Information - TEchniques and Sciences (HERMITS)

The 6th School of Multimodal Search(Research) for Information - TEchniques and Sciences (ERMITES) in taken place on September 27th, 28th and 29th, 2011 on the Ile de Porquerolles (Var 83). This year, I participated in this school within the steering committee.

Acts (written + Video links + interview) are available on the following page: http: // glotin.univ-tln.fr / ERMITES11

It was for me, once more the opportunity(occasion) of recnontrer of big names of the recherhce: Jean-Paul HATON (LORIA / IUF), Yosha BENGIO (University of Montreal / LISA), Stephane MALLAT (Ecole Polytechnique - CMAP), Hervé GLOTIN (LSIS / IUF) ( not exhaustive list).

They made us share their vision of the sciences, with approaches different from problems treated(handled) during these meetings.

I invite you to download these acts (links this above) at the same time dense, rich and fascinating.

Good reading

Uels are the implemented processes pAr our brain to isolate spontaneously a sound source, even if that this possesses frequency steppings with the surrounding sound landscape?

We already know that our hearing system (see my notes on the human hearing system) proceeds by frequency cutting(division) to treat(handle) the audio signal (conversion of the acoustic signal in nervou flow transported in the hearing cortex).

cerveau_intro.jpgBut at the level intellectual, the data processing remains another mystery.

Nevertheless, this action(share) that we lead all daily which consists in concentrating on what says our interlocutor by disregarding noises and ambient dialogues, is made by an incredible complexity.

Try to concentrate, not only on the speech to be listened to, but on you even to try to analyze the implemented process by your brain to reach there.

I looks forward to the result of your experiments and personal introspections on my blog...

Who according to you, corresponds to the smallest unity(unit) in the human language?

( About is the language, by taking into account the rare languages to see unknown of tribes removed from the Amazonia for example).

Is it the "phoneme", on which most part of the systems of voice recognition lean?

Or does exist a stable and strong enough even smaller fragment on the which we could lean?

In summary: which is the element which is common to us in ALLorganesmedicaux005Who makes that tuned to(listening) an expression, we know that it is about a man and not about an animal or about a noise?

I waits for your opinions and for comments on this forum.
